She’s Amazing, Bold, Brave, Confident, Inspirational, Strong.
She’s Red, White, and Blue.
So, why does Americana décor often come across as too kitschy, overtly thematic, old fashioned, brazenly red, white, and blue?
Boasting your American pride can be subtle. Small nods to our country via color, pattern, and texture easily incorporate into a variety of design styles. Whether seasonal or more permanent, I here by give you permission to freely decorate and proudly display your American pride.
Holiday décor means stars and stripes table-scapes, little streamers in house plants, a flag pillow on your favorite chair, patriotic hand towels in the guest bath, flowers filling a vase.
More permanent American interior furnishings include American art, red, white, and blue upholstered goods, patriotic wallpaper, and American flags. Special displays showcasing familial service members keep loved ones close. Choose one room and go over the top or scatter various symbols throughout your home. All of the above can be incorporated into an overall design scheme.
Outdoors, proudly hang bunting across windows and porches, greet guest with USA painted barnwood, overflow garden beds and porch pots with America’s colors, add a lit flag pole to your front yard.
Seasonal or year-round, America’s symbols are meaningful contributions to any design style.
